My passion is to help herding breed dogs and their families achieve the best possible life together. I have a Certificate III Animal Studies, a Karen Pryor Academy Certified Training Partner and a qualified Family Dog Mediator. I have over 18 years experience in caring for and training dogs including as a dog club instructor, vet nurse and foster carer.
I use force-free training to provide a wide range of programs designed to enrich your dog's life, including one-on-one behavioural management training, specialised classes for herding breeds, one on one herding lessons, herding workshops and farm play opportunities.
I have a special interest in working breeds, particularly border collies, kelpies and cattle dogs. I love working with these intelligent and active breeds to help them learn to cope and lead fulfilling lives in an urban environment. My two border collies Winston and Archie have all had their own challenges. We are now enjoying developing our herding skills with our small group of sheep. My dogs are always teaching me something new and giving me the chance to become a better trainer for both them and my clients.
Nola has shared her life with six dogs over the last thirty years.
She was introduced to the world of behavioural dog training when her young border collie Bree developed a generalised anxiety disorder. She worked with Jess over the following year, developing a personalised program for Bree. Along the way Nola became a passionate advocate for the power of modern behavioural techniques and positive reinforcement training. Bree is now enjoying a very happy and fulfilled life with her family, which now includes border collie Billy. Nola is enjoying working with Jess to help other dogs reach their full potential.
